Self-care

Recovery & wind-down

Taking care of yourself after training is part of the work, not an extra.

Why it matters

Recovery isn't separate from training — it's the part where your body actually adapts. Skipping it consistently is a common reason people plateau or feel run down despite training hard.

What it can look like

Simple, low-effort things: a foam roller for tight muscles, a consistent wind-down routine before bed, stretching, or just planning easier days into your week on purpose rather than by accident.

What the research generally says

Consistent pre-sleep routines are a common recommendation in general sleep-hygiene education, and adequate recovery time between hard training sessions is well supported in general exercise-science guidance.

The bigger picture

This is about taking care of yourself, full stop — not a box to check because you trained hard. Confidence and how you feel day to day are built the same way, whether that's through movement, rest, or how you take care of your appearance.
